Urby’s world is chock full of interesting characters. One who really stands out is Staten Island Urby resident Michelle Tumuolo. We learned about Michelle…where else…Instagram. Little did we know that we had an Olympic hopeful living (and training in our midst)! We wanted to know more about the life of a would-be Olympian so we got in touch. She took us for a walk with her beloved pup, Miles, and filled us in on her journey. Turns out, her sport, lacrosse, isn’t yet an Olympic sport, but that could change, and Michelle is gearing up for when that time comes.
I grew up in Mullica Hill, NJ, but I left to go to collage at UNC Chapel Hill.
Eugene, Oregon. My girlfriend had a job there (she’s a pediatric surgeon), and I was training with the National Team before I had an injury.
I moved to Urby with my girlfriend in August 2018 to become the coach of the Wagner College women’s lacrosse team.
I'm in the most important part of the season as a coach so helping my team win a championship is the biggest task at hand at the moment!
It’s not too bad actually. The team practices during the week, and then I travel around the country to different tournaments with the national team. We’re competing this weekend in Silver Springs, MD, and then, in two weeks we head to Chapel Hill for the playoffs.
I have 2! The cafe and the gym.
Walk my pup by the water and sit down with a nice hot cup of coffee.
This summer as my pro lacrosse season starts! I’m on a new team this season so I can't wait to get out there and play with them!
Flagship Brewery! Awesome atmosphere…if you like beer :)
